My DIY Blackout Cloth Screen:
1. I made this 88" x 49.5" (101" diagonal) Screen with:
7- 1x4x8 12 - "I" brackets 8 - "L" brackets 2 - "T" brackets
1 - 3yard sheet of 54" wide blackout material 1 - 3yard sheet of 72" wide black felt

2. Here I have cut the wood to make 2 frames. The inner frame is what the screen material will be mounted on,
and the outer frame is what the black felt will be mounted on.
3. Here I assembled the inner frame with the "L" brackets and the "T" brackets.
4. After ironing the blackout material, I laid it out on the ground and placed the frame on top of it. There are 2
sides to this material, a cloth side and a vinyl type side. I have decided to use the cloth side, but I have heard
good things about using both.
5. I then attached the cloth to the frame like an artists canvas as shown in THIS link. Once it is attached, I built the
outer frame directly around the inner one.
6. I then set the inner frame aside and and laid the felt down with the outer frame on top.
7. I cut the center out of the felt and stapled the felt border to the outer frame.
8. Once the outer frame is complete, I set the inner frame back in place and used the "I" brackets to
attach the the two frames.
9. The last step is to hang it on the wall. Total cost is about $65
